About the Workshops

I want to remind you again that there are not just a few individuals who end up asking themselves, ‘Where did my life go?’ Of course the answer will be ‘you don’t know because you never loved it enough to look. And because you didn’t look, your life wandered aimlessly and went nowhere.’ -Hugh Prather

A Picture of My Work

Kim has been teaching these workshops since 1999. The story began with a really bad headache that came and stayed for a year and a half. Out of desperation, Kim tried all sorts of things to rid herself of its constant presence—doctors, an orthodontist, many chiropractors, a nice but somewhat questionable allergist guy who pushed down on her left arm while holding decaf tea behind her sixth chakra. But it soon became more and more clear that it was an emotional issue. And so it happened that she came to be healed of the miserable thing through writing. Over time, she came to invent zillions of journaling exercises for different things, and after they saved her life many times over, she decided to make them into workshops. She also combines other visual art expressions such as collage, paint, and multimedia. She travels teaching one-day and weekend workshops & retreats as well as running an intensive 8-week course locally. What the workshops look like: Pictures & cut-up paper scattered everywhere, laughing, Kleenex, really great stories shared, and in some unfortunate cases, plaster falling from the ceiling.
